Binance founder Zhao discuses Pakistan’s digital economy with PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif

Binance creator Changpeng Zhao has called on PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif to talk about Pakistan’s digital economy.

Binance is the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange.

During the meeting, the PML-N supremo appreciated Zhao’s assumption of the role of strategic advisor to the Pakistan Crypto Council. He described the move as a crucial step towards establishing Pakistan as a regional leader in Web3 technologies and digital finance.

The meeting focused on leveraging innovation and knowledge-driven technologies for economic growth.

During the meeting, both the sides stressed the need to prepare the younger generation to lead in the areas of fintech, blockchain, and other new industries.

Binance’s Zhao is commonly known as CZ. He was officially named the strategic advisor to the Pakistan Crypto Council in a meeting held in Islamabad.

The said meeting was chaired by Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, and attended by officials from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), State Bank of Pakistan, and law and IT ministries.

The finance minister, in his remarks, described the appointment as a milestone for Pakistan. He further said it is a message to the world that Islamabad welcomes innovation.
