Bilawal Bhutto ree-elected PPP Chairman
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has been re-elected as the Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for a four-year term following the party’s intra-party elections held at the Central Secretariat in Islamabad. The elections, conducted in line with the PPP’s constitution, finalized key leadership positions for the next term.
Along with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s re-election, Humayun Khan was elected as the new Secretary General of the PPP, while Nadeem Afzal Chan was appointed as Secretary Information. Aamna Piracha was chosen as the Secretary Finance, completing the newly appointed senior leadership team.
All elected officials will serve a four-year term, in accordance with the internal electoral framework of the PPP, ensuring a continuation of leadership for the upcoming years.
The re-election of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari further consolidates his role at the helm of the party, while the new appointments signal the party’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its internal structure ahead of the next political phase.
Earlier, Pakistan’s economy is showing signs of improvement as inflation begins to decline, according to Finance Minister (FM) Muhammad Aurangzeb. Speaking to traders at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, Aurangzeb credited recent government policy decisions and a reduction in the central bank’s policy rate for helping to stabilize the economy and restore confidence among investors.
He stated that the government remains committed to supporting industries and creating a business-friendly environment, adding that the concerns of the business community must be prioritized. Aurangzeb emphasized that industrial growth is crucial for long-term economic stability, and said the economic team is working on lowering production costs and carrying out structural reforms to increase productivity.
