Tom and Jerry receives an AI makeover

Recently, a new version of Tom & Jerry made through Artificial Intelligence (AI) has come out which is surprising the viewers.

TTT-MLP, a joint project between Stanford and NVIDIA, has successfully tried to bring the true spirit of the cartoon to life in this short video based on text prompt only.

In the video, Tom is shown flirting with Jerry in an office in New York. Although some scenes are incoherent, the quality of the animation and background music are so brilliant that it seems to be part of the original series.

The question arises, can artificial intelligence really replace traditional animation?

Many interesting comments have surfaced about this video on social media. Some users have praised AI’s success, while many are still prioritizing the hard work of the original cartoon makers. One user wrote, “The original version was something else, it had magic that AI cannot bring. ‘‘

This development is also a cause of concern for animators and artists. Will AI replace traditional animation artists in times to come? Or will it just be a new tool that will make work easier for artists? At the moment, this debate is going on, but one thing is clear that this race of technology will continue.

Now it remains to be seen if we will soon be able to see tom and jerry’s full season made through AI. Or will fans prefer the hard work of the original artists? Only time will tell what kind of revolution this new technology will bring to the world of animation.
