IHC Bar withdraws petition on judicial transfers in SC
IHC Bar petition on judicial transfers
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Bar has decided to withdraw the constitutional petition filed in the Supreme Court (SC) against the transfer of judges.
An authority letter has been issued by the IHC Bar to withdraw the constitutional petition, and Advocate on Record Anees Muhammad Shahzad has been authorized to withdraw the constitutional petition.
However, an authority letter has been issued under the signatures of President Wajid Gilani and Secretary Manzoor Jaja.
The statement issued stated the reasons for the decision that this case is related to the seniority of judges, and the judges concerned have themselves filed cases on this issue in the SC.
Barr took the position that this was a constitutional matter that should be resolved through constitutional institutions.
The statement clarified that the High Court Bar is not an aggrieved party in this case and that the petition was filed by the former president of the bar without the permission of the executive council, in view of which the current leadership unanimously decided to withdraw it.
