Israeli Airstrikes Kill 64 More in Gaza as Humanitarian Crisis Deepens
At least 64 Palestinians have reportedly been killed since Friday morning due to ongoing Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, according to local and international media sources.
Multiple areas were targeted, including the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. A strike on a local shop claimed six lives, while another devastating air raid on a residential home killed ten members of the same family.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to worsen by the hour. Local journalists describe residents as mentally and physically exhausted. One Gaza-based reporter noted that parents are sacrificing their own meals, desperately searching for food for their children, as international aid remains scarce and slow to arrive.
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has issued a dire warning, stating that millions in Gaza are now at critical risk of hunger and need immediate food assistance.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, more than 51,000 people have been killed and over 116,000 wounded since the conflict began. However, Gaza’s Government Media Office reports an even higher death toll, estimating over 61,700 casualties and noting that many remain unaccounted for under rubble.
The latest wave of violence traces back to the October 7, 2023, attacks by Hamas-led militants on Israel, which killed at least 1,139 people and resulted in over 200 hostages being taken.
As airstrikes continue and food insecurity reaches alarming levels, the Gaza Strip remains in the grip of a severe humanitarian catastrophe.
