Sharmila Faruqui Slams Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, Urges Public Boycott of His Dramas
PPP politician Sharmila Faruqui didn’t hold back her thoughts on controversial writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, openly criticizing his body of work and urging the public to stop watching his drama serials.
During her recent appearance on Waseem Badami’s show, in a lighthearted game segment, Sharmila was asked to offer a piece of advice to Qamar. However, the moment his name was mentioned, her expression changed, and she instantly responded: “Uff, I don’t like him or I don’t want to talk about him.”
When the host pressed further, Sharmila doubled down, calling the writer “such a misogynist.” She didn’t mince words when asked whether actresses should work in his projects. Her response was firm: “I think nobody should even watch his dramas and producers also should not produce his serials.”
Sharmila supported the idea of a complete boycott of Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s work, citing his “below the belt” remarks and behavior, which she said were not fitting for a public figure.
The politician also commented on actor Danish Taimoor’s controversial on-air remarks, describing them as “so disgusting.” In contrast, she praised his wife, Ayeza Khan, for maintaining her composure during the uncomfortable moment, calling her response “graceful.”
Known for being outspoken, Sharmila Faruqui’s comments have added fuel to the ongoing debate about the behavior and public responsibility of celebrities and content creators in the entertainment industry.
