Russian drone attack on Ukrainian bus kills 9
A Russian drone hit a bus carrying workers in Ukraine, killing nine people and injuring at least 30 others. The attack happened on Wednesday morning in the city of Marhanets, located in south-central Ukraine.
Serhiy Lysak, the regional head of Dnipropetrovsk, said the number of injured people may rise as the situation is still developing.
This deadly strike comes just as officials from the UK, US, France, Germany, and Ukraine are preparing to meet in London to discuss a possible ceasefire in the ongoing war.
Russia began its full invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Since then, hundreds of thousands of people have been killed or wounded.
Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a 30-hour ceasefire for Easter Sunday. Ukraine agreed to do the same, but both countries later accused each other of violating the truce.
Last month, Russia shared a long list of demands in response to a ceasefire proposal made by the US and Ukraine.
The US is still in talks with Russia, Ukraine, and European leaders to try and bring about a peace agreement.
