Trump Says India, Pakistan Will Find a Way to Resolve Tensions

U.S. Trade Deficit Hits Record High in March Due to Import Stockpiling
U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Friday that India and Pakistan would ultimately resolve their relations on their own, as tensions between the two countries escalated following a deadly attack in Kashmir, marking one of the most severe incidents in nearly 20 years.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump referred to the long-standing conflict in the disputed Kashmir region and mentioned that he knew the leaders of both nations. However, when asked whether he planned to intervene and reach out to them, he did not provide a direct response.
“They’ll figure it out one way or another,” Trump remarked during his flight. “There’s a lot of tension between Pakistan and India, but that’s always been the case.”
The attack on Tuesday resulted in the deaths of 26 men at a popular tourist site in Kashmir, who were shot in a meadow. India has accused Pakistani elements of being involved in the attack, though Pakistan has denied the allegations.
Kashmir has been a contentious region claimed by both India and Pakistan, leading to two wars over the territory. In the wake of the attack, relations between the two nations have rapidly deteriorated. India suspended an important water-sharing agreement with Pakistan, while Pakistan responded by closing its airspace to Indian airlines. The situation has also put their trade relations at risk.
On Friday, Indian stock markets experienced a decline amid fears of further escalation, with Indian authorities launching a search for militants in the region. However, the markets later recovered some of the losses.
