Iran offers mediation to de-escalate Pak-India tensions

Iran has offered to mediate between India and Pakistan to de-escalate tensions.
In a statement issued on social media, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqhchi said that Iran is ready to mediate between Pakistan and India.
Araqhchi said that in difficult times Iran is ready to do everything possible for mediation between Pakistan and India.
Earlier, in a telephonic conversation with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, the Iranian foreign minister said that Tehran is ready to play a role for regional stability and de-escalation of tensions between Pakistan and India.
Dar appreciated Iran’s constructive and responsible attitude and said that Pakistan wants the success of talks between the United States and Iran.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan also held talks with the foreign ministers of Pakistan and India.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a telephonic conversation with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and discussed the regional situation and steps to reduce and stabilize tensions.
The Saudi foreign minister also had a telephonic conversation with his Indian counterpart Jaishankar.
According to the statement, the talks between the Saudi and Indian foreign ministers focused on reducing the confrontation.
