J-Hope Talks BTS Future After Military Service Ends in June 2025

29 April, 2025 16:34

BTS’s J-Hope recently opened up about the group’s future as the K-pop sensation nears a major milestone — the completion of military service by all seven members this June.

Appearing on a radio show, J-Hope reflected on how the band has grown individually during their time apart. “I think that over time, we each refined our unique identities as each of us works on their own music, comes out with their solo projects and does their own thing,” he shared.

The rapper and dancer, who has already completed his mandatory enlistment, expressed excitement about the group’s reunion. “The funny thing for me is when our identities, which have taken shape in various ways, come together as BTS, I’m curious to see what it’ll look like,” he said. “I look forward to June, when our members will have completed their service. We will quickly get together and talk about what BTS can do in the future. I think it’s going to be a massive energy.”

BTS is currently on a hiatus, allowing all members to fulfill South Korea’s compulsory military service. Jin, J-Hope, and Suga have completed their terms, while RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — who enlisted in December 2023 — are expected to finish by June.

Under South Korean law, all able-bodied men must serve in the military, although a 2020 amendment allowed K-pop stars to delay enlistment until 30, recognizing their contributions to national prestige. Fans now eagerly await what BTS will bring next as a reunited group.
