New school timings for May 2025 due to rising heat

The Ministry of Education in the UAE has changed school timings to protect students from the rising heat. Authorities made sure the new schedule will not affect the quality of education.

Parents are being asked to support this new timing so that students can continue their studies without any problems.

New School Timings

The new school hours started from April 28 and will stay in place until summer holidays begin.

• Classes will start Monday to Thursday at 7:15 am and finish at 1:35 pm.

• On Fridays, classes will end earlier, at 11:00 am.

Schools have also shared attendance rules. They said the school gates will close at 7:30 am. If a student comes late, their parents or guardians must speak directly with the school administration.

Weather Update

The weather in Abu Dhabi is expected to stay between 29°C and 44°C, and in Dubai between 31°C and 44°C.

Earlier, the Emirates Astronomy Society said that intense heat in the UAE and the Arabian Peninsula would start from April 29 and last until June 7.
