Zara Noor Abbas Condemns Indian Social Media Reaction to Civilian Deaths in Pakistan

09 May, 2025 14:46

Pakistani actress Zara Noor Abbas has strongly criticized the wave of celebratory messages from Indian social media users following recent missile strikes on Pakistan, which also claimed the life of a child.

In a heartfelt Instagram video, Zara expressed her dismay over the insensitivity displayed online. “Everyone from our country condemned it over and over again,” she said, referring to Pakistan’s response to the Pahalgam attack in India. “We never cheered for someone dying. You all are doing that,” she added, calling out the disturbing reactions.

Zara emphasized that terrorism has no religion or nationality. “A terrorist is a terrorist — Muslim, Hindu, Bengali, Israeli. Anyone who kills in the name of religion is wrong,” she stated.

Zara Noor Abbas also slammed Indian media for spreading false information, such as reports claiming Karachi Port had been destroyed. “At the end of the day, it’s a soldier’s mother, wife or child who suffers. No one else,” she said, urging an end to the glorification of war.

Her remarks come in the wake of India’s “Operation Sindoor,” launched on May 7, targeting multiple locations in Pakistan. India claimed the attacks were in response to an earlier assault in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, but has yet to provide credible evidence.

Zara’s video has resonated widely, drawing support from both Pakistani and Indian users. Some Indian commenters also condemned the violence, saying, “We don’t support this violence,” and “We condemn what India has done.”
