Pakistani tennis star Hamid Ul Haq has made the country proud by winning the Men’s Seniors 60+ title at the MT400 Pattaya Championship. The international tournament was held at Greeta Sports Club in Pattaya, Thailand from April 27 to May 2, 2025.

Hamid started the championship as an unseeded player, but surprised everyone with his strong performances. In the first round, he faced a local Thai player and won easily with scores of 6-2, 6-1.

In the quarterfinals, he played against Australia’s Stan Aspiotis, the second seed in the tournament. Hamid was in top form and defeated Aspiotis with a convincing 6-1, 6-3 score. This victory was seen as a big upset, and it caught the attention of tennis fans and media around the world.

Next, he moved to the semifinals to face Hikaru Yamamori from Japan, the tournament’s fourth seed. Hamid played aggressively and gave Yamamori no chance. He won the match 6-1, 6-1, showing that he was ready for the final.

The final match was against Zeev Livne, the top seed from Israel and world number 75 in the seniors’ category. Livne had reached the final without losing a single set and had crushed most of his opponents. But Hamid was determined to win.
