Pakistan declares Indian HC member as ‘persona non grata’
Pakistan has responded to the tactics employed at the diplomatic level by India after facing defeat on the battlefield by declaring an official of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad as as persona non grata and instructing him to leave the country.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Shafqat Ali Khan, an official of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad has been declared an undesirable person.
He stated that Pakistan has declared an official of the Indian High Commission as ‘persona non grata’ based on his activities, as the actions of the Indian official are inconsistent with diplomatic privileges and status.
The Indian High Commission official has been instructed to leave Pakistan within 24 hours, and this decision was formally communicated to the Indian Charge d’Affaires through a protest letter summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Indian diplomat Shankar Reddy Chintala stationed in Islamabad was found involved in espionage; therefore, Pakistan has declared him ‘persona non grata’.
