Iconic Singer Saleem Shehzad’s House Destroyed by Fire

14 May, 2025 13:13

Veteran Pakistani playback singer Saleem Shehzad, whose powerful voice once defined the golden era of film music, has faced a heartbreaking tragedy as a fire erupted through his home, leaving him with nothing.

With over 2,000 songs to his credit across films, television, and radio, Shehzad was the voice behind classics from films such as Heera Aur Pathar, Talaash, Soghat, Ghareebon Ka Badshah, and Aawara, contributing to more than 80 hit movies. But the acclaimed artist, once celebrated for his romantic melodies, is now battling multiple personal misfortunes.

A failed eye surgery has left him blind, and the recent fire not only destroyed his home but also erased a lifetime of musical archives—albums, CDs, and cassettes—all gone in minutes. The loss of these irreplaceable items has devastated the singer, who has already been enduring severe financial difficulties.

“Saleem Shehzad is already going through tremendous financial hardship. Heartbroken and helpless, he has publicly called upon the Sindh Government and the Governor of Sindh to provide him with immediate help in the hope that he might get support in the last chapter of his life and not suffer further.”

His fans and fellow artists have expressed sorrow over the incident and urged authorities to take immediate action to assist the legendary singer during his time of need.
