American R&B singer Chris Brown has been denied bail by a British court. He will remain in custody until June 13, 2025, after being charged with assault in connection with an incident at a nightclub in London.
Details of the Incident
The case is related to an alleged attack on a music producer that happened on February 19, 2023. The incident reportedly took place at a nightclub in Hanover Square, a busy nightlife area in central London.
Brown, who is 36 years old, is facing a charge of grievous bodily harm with intent. This is considered a serious crime under UK law.
Arrest and Court Appearance
He was arrested by the Metropolitan Police on Thursday in Manchester, where he was staying at the Lowry Hotel during his tour. After his arrest, he appeared before Manchester Magistrates’ Court.
During the hearing, Brown confirmed his name, date of birth, and address. He was seen wearing sweatpants and a black T-shirt, with bleached blonde hair. The court decided not to grant him bail.
Next Court Date
The case has now been transferred to Southwark Crown Court in London. Chris Brown is scheduled to appear there on June 13, 2024.
