20 May, 2025 13:04

A second man has been charged in connection with three fires at properties and a vehicle linked to UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, according to the Metropolitan Police. The update was shared on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

The suspect, Stanislav Carpiuc, is a 26-year-old Romanian national from Romford. He was arrested on May 17 at London Luton Airport by counter-terrorism officers from the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit. He is accused of conspiring to commit arson with intent to endanger life.

Fires at Starmer-Linked Locations

The charges relate to three separate fires in north and north-west London:

  • A vehicle fire in Kentish Town, north London.

  • A fire at Sir Keir Starmer’s private residence, also in Kentish Town.

  • A third fire at a former address linked to the Prime Minister in north-west London.

The Metropolitan Police stated that Carpiuc conspired with Roman Lavrynovych, who was charged last week with three counts of arson with intent to endanger life. Carpiuc is believed to have worked with Lavrynovych and other individuals not yet identified.

He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday morning.

Ongoing Investigations

On May 19, a 34-year-old man was also arrested in Chelsea, west London. He was taken into custody on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson with the intent to endanger life. Police say the man is still being held as inquiries continue.

The incidents are being taken very seriously due to the risk to life involved. The police are continuing their investigation and may release more information as it becomes available.
