Driving license fees for car, motorcycle, and LTV before Budget 2025-26

In Punjab, the Traffic Police Department is responsible for issuing driving licenses. If you want to drive a motorcycle, car, or any other vehicle, you must have a valid license. Driving without a license can lead to heavy fines.

To get a license, you must pass both theoretical and practical driving tests. There’s also a license fee, which depends on the type and duration of the license. Last year, the government increased these fees. It’s not yet known if fees will change again in the upcoming budget.

License Fees for Car + Motorcycle

• Test Fee: Rs150

• One-year License: Rs1,830

• Two-year License: Rs3,660

• Test Fee (additional): Rs200

For LTV (Light Transport Vehicle) License:

• Per Year Fee: Rs2,330

• Test Fee: Rs150

You can get a regular license for 1 to 5 years based on your choice.

Always Keep Your License

Traffic police officers can ask to see your license at any time. If you don’t have it with you, you could be fined.

Punjab citizens can now download a digital copy of their license:

1. Visit http://dlims.punjab.gov.pk

2. Click on the e-license option

3. Enter your CNIC number and date of birth

4. Click Download to get the PDF copy of your license

This makes it easier to carry your license on your mobile.
