Child Birth Registration Now Easier with NADRA’s Latest Step
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued an important public message, urging families to register the births of their children on time at their respective Union Councils.
As per federal and provincial laws in Pakistan, only close blood relatives with a valid CNIC are permitted to carry out this process at the Union Council level. These relatives include: “Parents (Mother/Father), Siblings (Brother/Sister), Grandparents (Maternal and Paternal), Uncles and Aunts (Chacha, Taya, Phupha, Mamoo, Khala).”
“NADRA emphasized that proper birth registration is a legal responsibility and vital for issuing official documents such as the Child Registration Certificate (CRC), commonly known as the “B-Form.”
After the child’s birth has been registered and the computerized record updated at the Union Council, parents or guardians can visit any NADRA office to apply for the B-Form.
For June 2025, “The normal fee for Nadra B-Form stands at Rs50 while executive service is also offered by the registration authority for Rs500.”
“The B-Form is a fundamental right of every child to obtain a registration certificate from their place of origin.” NADRA’s continued awareness efforts highlight the importance of timely registration to secure a child’s legal identity and access to essential services in Pakistan.
