Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar Reconciles with Mahira Khan After Years Long Dispute

In a surprising turn of events, actress Mahira Khan and renowned drama writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar have seemingly put their long-standing differences to rest.

The unexpected development follows Mahira Khan’s recent appearance on Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast Excuse Me, where she candidly addressed her past criticism of Qamar. Reflecting on a past incident, Mahira admitted that her reaction — tweeting against the writer following his controversial on-air spat with activist Marvi Sirmed — was emotional and impulsive.

“If you think I was wrong, then yes, I was wrong,” Mahira confessed. “I should have messaged him. He’s right — I should’ve spoken to him directly.”

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, best known for his acclaimed writing and strong opinions, responded to Mahira’s remarks in an interview, saying, “That shows Mahira Khan’s grace. I have great respect for her. There has always been a relationship of mutual respect between us.”

He further revealed that her comments moved him deeply: “Whenever I criticized Mahira Khan, it hurt me as well.” Qamar went on to share that he messaged her after hearing the podcast, stating, “From today onwards, I have no complaints against you.”

Mahira also reflected on their collaboration on the drama Sadqay Tumhare, written by Qamar, noting that while they were never close friends, their work together was done “with love” due to the personal nature of the story.
