Model Bethany Brown Fined After Nightclub Brawl with Amelia and Heather Begg

05 June, 2025 15:52

On February 2, a brutal fight broke out in the women’s toilet at PJs nightclub in Warrington, Cheshire. It ended with model Bethany Brown, 23, and a mother-daughter duo Heather Begg, 40, and Amelia Begg, 23, all being taken to court.

The fight started after an argument between the three women. CCTV footage showed that Heather Begg slapped Bethany Brown first. Brown then grabbed Amelia’s hair and punched her in the face.

Heather tried to break the fight, but then joined in and punched Brown too. Amelia also kept hitting Brown before someone pulled her away. But Brown fought back and landed more punches on Amelia’s head.

The entire brawl lasted about 45 seconds, but it was violent and aggressive. The footage was shown in Warrington Magistrates’ Court, where all three women admitted using threatening and abusive behavior.

Court Details and Statements

Elizabeth Browne, the prosecutor, said there was “substantial use of force.” She added that showing the CCTV footage was better than describing it, because it clearly showed what happened.

Peter Green, defending Bethany Brown, said she did not start the fight. He explained Brown was first assaulted and acted out of self-defence, but later went beyond that. He stressed Brown had no criminal history and deeply regretted her actions.

For the Beggs, Simon Dunn accepted that Heather Begg started the altercation. He said the argument began after Brown challenged Heather. When Heather slapped Brown, Amelia stepped in to defend her mother.

Dunn claimed both Heather and Amelia were also hit during the fight and didn’t walk away when they had a chance. Amelia was left with a bloody nose and facial bruising, and felt shocked by the whole incident.

Final Verdict and Fines

Magistrate JP Alf Bean told Bethany Brown that the court agreed she was the initial victim. But he also said she “moved from a position of self-defence” and punched Amelia several times when she could have stopped.

Brown was fined £546 plus £303 in court costs. She was dealt with separately from the Beggs. Both Heather and Amelia Begg, from Great Sankey, were fined £615 each and ordered to pay £331 in court costs and surcharges.

The court reminded all three women that the fight was “not pleasant to watch” and warned them to never behave that way again.
