Toyota Corolla Cross price increased after Budget 2025-26 – check new rates

Many people hoped the new budget for 2025-26 would bring good news for car buyers, especially fans of hybrid vehicles. But instead, the government has announced higher taxes to increase revenue, which will now make many cars more expensive.

A major change is the increase in General Sales Tax (GST) on hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). The tax has gone up from 8.5% to 18%. This change has led to a big price jump in popular hybrid cars like the Toyota Corolla Cross.

This tax increase has upset people in the auto industry. They say that just when people were becoming more interested in eco-friendly hybrid cars, this price hike might discourage them from buying.

One car dealer in Lahore said, “This will make hybrids like the Corolla Cross too expensive for many buyers. It’s a setback for green transportation in Pakistan.”

The budget has also increased taxes on small cars like the Suzuki Alto and changed some customs duties. These steps are meant to fix the economy, but right now they seem to be making car prices go even higher.
