The Drug Case: What Happened?

Szepanowski’s boyfriend, Jordan Brennan, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for attempting to retrieve cocaine from a shipping container at the Port of Brisbane in 2020. He was convicted alongside associate Brendan Sipple.

Police had already removed 42 packages of cocaine from the container before Brennan and Sipple arrived at 4:10 AM. Authorities used GPS tracking and audio surveillance to monitor their movements.

Audio played in court revealed the men celebrated after locating the container, playing songs like “Circles” by Post Malone and “Survivor” by Destiny’s Child. They also discussed burying the drugs in a bushland area.

Justice Michael Copley said their actions were driven by greed. “You showed no concern about the damage this cocaine would have caused,” he said. Brennan’s lawyer claimed he was trying to turn his life around and had started a courier service.
