02 July, 2025 10:34

US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will hold their first face-to-face meeting on November 7 in Washington, prompting hopes for a possible ceasefire in Gaza.

According to international news agencies, President Trump has stated that a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages are among his top priorities. He added that the upcoming meeting will also include detailed discussions on the situation in Iran and Israel’s relations with Syria.

Trump expressed these views while speaking to journalists at the White House before departing for a visit to a detention center in Florida.

Earlier, President Trump had indicated that a Gaza ceasefire agreement could be finalized in the coming week.

This visit marks Netanyahu’s third trip to the United States in the first six months of the year, reflecting his close relationship with President Trump.

Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer is currently in Washington coordinating with US officials to organize the visit.

It is also noteworthy that President Trump has signed a presidential order lifting US economic sanctions on Syria, expressing his desire for the restoration of diplomatic ties between Israel and Syria.

As such, the meeting is expected to cover the Gaza ceasefire, the potential restoration of Israel-Syria diplomatic relations, and the future of Israel’s ties with Iran.
