More Buildings Evacuated after Lyari Tragedy

Karachi: Three more buildings around the collapsed building in Lyari have been evacuated, one of which will be demolished today.

The three-story building, which shook during the rescue operation, will be demolished today, but the committee will inspect the other two buildings.

Residents have demanded that the government provide an immediate alternative location.

It should be noted that another building in Karachi collapsed, but the danger is still not over. There are dozens of buildings in and around the Baghdadi area of ​​Lyari that have become so dilapidated that they could become a pile of rubble at any moment, causing fear and panic among the citizens.

Assistant Commissioner Shehryar Habib, while talking to the media after the rescue operation in Lyari was completed, said that 27 people were killed and 10 injured in the building collapse.
