Martina and John first met in 1987, when a friend directed her to John’s sound company to rent rehearsal space. Although her band didn’t show up, Martina ended up meeting John – a moment that would change her life.

“Here I was, crying on his shoulder about my band not coming together, and I thought, ‘I’m in love with this guy. This is crazy. He lives in a warehouse,” she recalled in a 1998 interview with People.

Their bond grew quickly, leading to their engagement in May 1987 and marriage a year later on May 15, 1988, in Wichita, Kansas.

Family Life and 37 Years of Marriage

The couple shares three daughters: Delaney (1994), Emma (1998), and Ava (2005). This year, Martina and John celebrated 37 years of marriage.
