Tamasha Season 4 Faces Criticism Over Contestant Selection

11 August, 2025 12:56

Tamasha, ARY Digital’s biggest reality show, first premiered in 2022. Inspired by the Big Brother format, ARY Digital has now officially acquired rights from the franchise. Produced by Salman Iqbal and Jarjees Seja, and hosted by Adnan Siddiqui, the reality series returned with Season 4 on 9th August at 9:00 PM. For the next two months, the show will air daily at 10:00 PM and will also be live-streamed for free on ARY ZAP.

While the first three seasons achieved massive popularity, Season 4 has sparked backlash from viewers. Despite the channel’s promise of a “bigger and better” season, fans expressed disappointment over the selection of contestants, calling them unfamiliar faces with little media presence. Many viewers believe the success of previous seasons was due to the participation of well-known and influential personalities.

Social media reactions were harsh, with one user commenting, “Low budget contestants. They picked people off the streets and put them in.” Another said, “All cheap/trashy people have come to Tamasha 4.” Some expressed familiarity with only a few participants, as one remarked, “What is this? I know only three of them, and even among them two are a useless uncle and aunty — only the boy is better. I don’t know about the rest.” One viewer even joked, “Hired the entire cast for 150 rupees.”

Additionally, criticism was directed at contestant Sarah Omair’s outfit during the launch episode. Many described it as “outdated, tacky, old fashioned and ill stitched” for such a grand occasion.
