Ortal Edri’s Vegas Wedding Surprise for Shamir Fink Goes Viral With 18 Million Views

12 August, 2025 15:55

“What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” — unless you post it on TikTok. That’s exactly what happened to Ortal Edri, a singer and songwriter, whose unusual Vegas wedding surprise for her husband Shamir Fink has now been viewed over 18.3 million times online.

In a viral clip shared on her TikTok account (@ortaledri), Ortal is seen serenading her new husband at the altar. She sings “Can’t Help Falling in Love” with an Elvis Presley impersonator. But there’s just one problem — her groom is nowhere in sight at the beginning of the video.

Surprise Gone Slightly Wrong

The video shows Ortal confidently performing on their wedding day. But moments into the song, she stops to ask: “Where is my husband?”

The text on the screen explains: “When you decide to surprise your camera-shy husband with a wedding song and you had to chase him down the chapel because he disappeared on you.”

According to Ortal, Shamir had simply stepped aside to get a better camera angle. He’s usually behind the camera, filming their content.

A Musical Love Story — 12 Years in the Making

Ortal and Shamir have been together for 12 years. Both work in music — she is a vocalist, and he is a music producer. The couple planned the entire wedding in just four days, making the moment even more hectic and emotional.

Ortal told Newsweek: “I always knew I would sing at our wedding. Music is such a big part of our lives.”

In another clip posted later, Ortal sang Mariah Carey to her visibly nervous husband, explaining that she was trying to ease his nerves.

Mixed Reactions from the Internet

While many viewers praised Ortal’s voice and confidence, others had mixed opinions. Some criticized her for putting her shy partner in an awkward situation.

One commenter wrote: “This looks like his worst nightmare. Girl, why did you do this to him?”

Another added: “Singing at your own wedding is a weird flex.”

A third joked: “Was he even aware he was getting married?”

Despite the criticism, the couple insists that the moment was special for them — even if it didn’t go exactly as planned.

Shamir’s Side of the Story

Shamir later shared his thoughts and stood by his wife’s decision: “I would’ve enjoyed the surprise more if I hadn’t drunk so much and wasn’t so nervous. But Ortal’s singing always moves me.”

He added: “We’ve worked together in music for years, and I love that she made our wedding musical too. It was stressful, yes, but heartfelt.”

Shamir reminded viewers that one short video can’t capture the full story of their relationship.

Vegas Weddings Are Still Going Strong

This heartfelt — and slightly chaotic — moment is just one of many from Las Vegas, the world’s wedding capital. According to weddings.vegas, more than 40,000 weddings have already taken place in Vegas this year, following 75,000 weddings in 2024.

Whether you love or question the performance, Ortal and Shamir’s Vegas wedding is now a part of internet history.
