The role of Nica is brought to life by 20-year-old Italian actress Caterina Ferioli, who is quickly making her mark in the entertainment world.

Born on December 21, 2003, in Bologna, Ferioli began modeling at the age of 15 after being scouted at a casting call by Women Management. Reflecting on her early career, she recalled her first job shooting for orthopedic shoes, saying the photos “were on a lot of magazines.” Describing herself as “determined,” “funny,” and always trying to “bring a little joy to the set,” Ferioli has worked with several fashion brands since.

She admires model-actress Kaia Gerber for her passion and dedication, noting, “I always wanted to be a model, but I thought it was impossible and super hard to achieve.”

Speaking about The Tearsmith, Ferioli revealed she hadn’t read the original novel before auditioning but “devoured” it once she landed the role. On her co-star Simon Baldasseroni, she admitted there were “moments of hatred” on set, but they eventually “found [their] balance.”
