Across the country, the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) and the martyrs of Karbala is being observed with traditional devotion and reverence.

Processions carrying alam and zuljanah will be taken out across the country. Through recitation of noha khwani and matam, tribute will be paid to the martyrs. In Karachi, the central Chehlum procession of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) will be taken out from Nishtar Park at 1 PM.

The majlis (religious gathering) will begin at 11 AM, where Allama Shahenshah Hussain Naqvi will deliver the sermon. At 1:45 PM, the Zuhrain (combined noon and afternoon) prayers will be offered, led by Allama Nazer Abbas Taqvi. The procession will pass through the designated route and conclude at Husayniya Iraniyan. For Chehlum, security arrangements in Karachi have been completed — roads and streets around the MA Jinnah Road procession route have been sealed with containers.

Police officials say that over 4,000 police personnel have been deployed for procession security. Section 144 has been enforced in the city, and mobile phone service will be partially suspended along the procession route.

In Punjab, 30,000 police officers and personnel will be deployed for 382 processions and gatherings, while Lahore Police have completed their security arrangements for Chehlum. In Lahore alone, more than 5,000 personnel are deployed, providing security for 40 gatherings and 12 mourning processions. Additionally, over 400 upper subordinates are on duty under the supervision of 12 SPs.

In Peshawar, two zuljanah processions will be taken out today in connection with Chehlum. Strict security arrangements have been made for these processions. The first will start from Imambargah Akhundabad at 3 PM, while the second will start from Jamia Masjid Kocha Risaldar at 3 PM.
