Amman, Jordan — Pakistan’s young judoka Malaika Noor delivered an exceptional performance at the ongoing Asian Open Judo Championship in Jordan, securing a silver medal in the under-52 kg category, according to international media reports.
Malaika showcased remarkable skill throughout the tournament, defeating competitors from three different countries to earn her place in the final. In the decisive bout, she faced a tough contest against a Saudi Arabian judoka, where despite her strong effort, she had to settle for silver.
This achievement stands as a proud moment for Pakistan and marks a significant milestone for women’s sports in the country, particularly in martial arts and contact sports. Malaika’s success has quickly become a source of inspiration for young female athletes nationwide.
Earlier, in 2024, Malaika represented Pakistan at the World Junior Judo Championship in Dushanbe, where her talent was recognized at the international level, earning her a reputation as one of Pakistan’s emerging judo stars.
President of the Pakistan Judo Federation, Colonel Junaid Alam, praised her accomplishment, calling it a matter of national pride. He described Malaika as a ray of hope for young athletes and a motivating force for future generations of judokas in Pakistan.
