Urban Flooding Continues as Karachi Roads Go Underwater

KARACHI: Continuous heavy rain has severely disrupted daily life in Karachi, creating an urban flooding situation across the city. Most major roads and underpasses are submerged, forcing many people to walk home.

The Nizamabad, Liaquatabad, and Gharibabad underpasses are filled with rainwater, while several vehicles and motorcycles remain stuck on Shahrah-e-Faisal and other key roads. At Liaquatabad No.10, the main road has turned into a pond, causing massive traffic jams.

University Road is completely underwater, with cars submerged. In Federal B Area, rainwater mixed with overflowing sewage has worsened the situation. Clifton underpass is also flooded, blocking the route towards Teen Talwar.

In several parts of Malir, water has entered homes, leaving residents stranded. Office workers and schoolchildren faced severe difficulties returning home due to flooded roads and stalled traffic.

Authorities have warned citizens to avoid unnecessary travel until the rain subsides.
