Gold Prices Drop in Pakistan for Second Consecutive Day

20 August, 2025 15:06

Karachi (Wednesday, August 21, 2025) — Gold prices in Pakistan continued to decline for the second straight day, giving some relief to buyers. The local market saw a big fall on Wednesday as the precious metal became cheaper both locally and internationally.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold per tola dropped by Rs. 1,400, bringing the new rate to Rs. 355,200. Similarly, the rate for 10 grams of gold fell by Rs. 1,201, now priced at Rs. 304,526.

The international market also showed a downward trend. Gold prices in the global market slipped by 14 dollars per ounce, trading at $3,325.

Market experts believe this fall is linked to the dollar rate and the global economic situation. They warn that prices may continue to change in the coming days, depending on international demand and exchange rate movement.

Gold dealers in Karachi said that despite the fall, buying activity remains slow. Many customers are still waiting for further decline before making purchases.

This is the second day in a row when gold has shown a sharp decline. Just a day earlier, prices also went down, giving a clear sign of market pressure. Experts suggest that if the international market keeps weakening, local buyers may see more drops in the coming week.
