NADRA Launches Special CNIC Registration Drive in Flood-Affected Swat and Buner

NADRA Launches Special CNIC Registration Drive in Flood-Affected Swat and Buner
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has initiated a fast-track registration campaign in the flood-hit districts of Swat and Buner to ensure quick access to identity services and government relief initiatives.
According to officials, the drive is being carried out in collaboration with the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP). As part of the initiative, mobile registration vans have been deployed to issue Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) on the spot and to process urgent applications for families in need of relief assistance.
NADRA teams are actively working in flood-affected areas such as Lundikass and Babuzai in Swat, as well as several localities across Buner. The service is enabling displaced residents to secure CNICs, which are essential for accessing aid and social protection schemes.
This development comes after the recent monsoon floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that displaced hundreds of families, inundated villages, and damaged critical infrastructure. Alongside NADRA’s intervention, humanitarian groups including OneUmmah and Penny Appeal are also distributing food supplies, clean water, and hygiene kits to support affected households.
In a separate update, NADRA announced revised fees for the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), applicable to citizens residing in Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. The NICOP also extends to family members of overseas Pakistanis, serving as a vital identity document and ensuring access to multiple services and benefits.
