Who is Linda Stewart? Former Florida Senator Under Scrutiny for ‘Doxxing’ ICE Agents
Linda Stewart, a former Democratic senator from Orlando, Florida, is under political and legal scrutiny after a viral Facebook post revealed the location of ICE agents near the Lynx Central bus station in downtown Orlando.
The post, made on August 16, 2025, quickly spread online and sparked heated debate. Right-wing activist Laura Loomer accused Stewart of “doxxing ICE” and interfering with immigration enforcement activities. Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier also weighed in, calling her actions “harassment of law enforcement” and urging a formal investigation.
What Happened?
Stewart posted on Facebook: “ICE in Lynx Central Station downtown.” Within hours, screenshots circulated on X (formerly Twitter). Loomer claimed Stewart was actively tracking ICE raids to “undermine” them, calling the act “illegal.”
Attorney General Uthmeier later confirmed he was referring the matter to Monique Worrell, the state attorney for Florida’s 9th Circuit, for review. He also warned Stewart to “stop playing politics” with law enforcement safety.
Stewart, however, defended herself, saying that Uthmeier’s statements were putting a “chilling effect” on her freedom of speech.
