Who is Arabella Kushner? Donald Trump’s Granddaughter Draws Attention at US Open
US President Donald Trump’s appearance at the US Open men’s final at Arthur Ashe Stadium this weekend sparked mixed reactions, with boos from the crowd and long entry delays that left many missing the start of the Carlos Alcaraz–Jannik Sinner clash. But what truly caught the internet’s attention was the presence of his granddaughter, Arabella Kushner, in a rare public moment.
Trump, dressed in his trademark suit and red tie, invited the 13-year-old daughter of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner to stand beside him ahead of the national anthem. The scene, met with loud disapproval from the packed 24,000-seat stadium, has fueled speculation about Arabella’s possible political role in the Trump family.
Arabella Rose Kushner, largely away from the media spotlight until now, suddenly found herself at center stage. Without a public social media presence, her mother Ivanka once revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that her daughter aspired to join the Marines. Arabella has also been part of occasional White House visits and once observed a Supreme Court session.
Fluent in Mandarin, she gained international attention in 2017 when the Washington Post shared a video of her singing at a Lunar New Year celebration at the Chinese Embassy, an event that coincided with Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Mar-a-Lago. She is the eldest sibling of Joseph Frederick and Theodore James Kushner and one of Trump’s 11 grandchildren.
At the US Open, Arabella wore a flowing green dress as she stood between her father and grandfather. While the moment appeared awkward to many, some online argued the clip was taken out of context.
