Punjab Govt Opens 8000+ New Teaching Jobs

The Punjab Higher Education Department has approved the hiring of 8,084 College Teaching Interns (CTIs) to fill faculty gaps in government colleges across the province.

According to the notification, 5% of seats are reserved for minorities, 3% for persons with disabilities, and 0.5% for the transgender community.

Duration of Engagement

For intermediate classes, CTIs will serve for seven months (October 1, 2025 – April 30, 2026). For BS programs, the term will extend to ten months (October 1, 2025 – July 31, 2026), or until permanent staff are appointed.

Eligibility & Merit

Applicants must possess at least a BS or Master’s degree with a second division in the relevant subject, while candidates with MPhil or PhD degrees will receive preference. Academic record, qualifications, positions in board/university, and interview performance will determine merit.

Stipend Details

• Intermediate level: Rs. 50,000 per month
• BS/Graduate level: Rs. 60,000 per month
  Payments will be transferred directly into the selected candidates’ bank accounts.

Terms & Conditions

There will be no age limit for applicants. CTIs will receive two casual leaves per month, but no TA/DA. Placements will be temporary and can be terminated in case of poor performance. Forged documents will lead to cancellation and legal proceedings.

The initiative aims to ensure smooth academic activities during the 2025-26 session by providing immediate teaching support until permanent staff appointments are finalized.
