Indian Woman’s Late-Night Walk in Dubai Sparks Debate on Women’s Safety in Different Countries

16 September, 2025 12:10

Dubai: A video of an Indian woman walking alone on the streets of Dubai in the early hours of the morning has gone viral, igniting a widespread conversation on social media about women’s safety across different countries.

Shared by Trisha Raj on her Instagram account, the video captures her walking confidently through the city at 2:37 a.m. In the accompanying caption, she highlighted the sense of security she felt, stating that such freedom was possible “only in Dubai,” where women can move freely without fear.

Reflecting on her personal experience, Trisha shared that in India, she often felt restricted and typically needed the company of her brother or a male relative to go out at night. By contrast, Dubai offered her a liberating sense of safety.

“Here, I walked with confidence, without bowing my head, something I could never imagine back home,” she wrote.
