PM Shehbaz Inaugurates English Channel at PTV Digital

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday visited the headquarters of Pakistan Television (PTV) Digital in Islamabad, where he inaugurated a new English-language channel aimed at presenting Pakistan’s narrative to a global audience.

During his visit, the Prime Minister was given a detailed briefing by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar. The briefing covered the goals of the new channel, its digital outreach strategy, and its role in improving Pakistan’s image internationally.

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the importance of media in the modern era, especially in the context of narrative building at the international level. He stressed that young people play a vital role in countering negative foreign narratives about Pakistan.

“In the war of narratives globally, the role of youth is extremely important. Our young generation must be equipped with the tools to represent Pakistan in a positive and factual manner,” he said.

The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of the Information Ministry and PTV Digital for launching the English channel, saying it was a timely step to strengthen Pakistan’s voice in the international media landscape.

The newly launched English channel under PTV Digital aims to provide news, documentaries, and current affairs content tailored for both domestic and international audiences, with a focus on digital platforms.
