Good News! Pakistan clears passport backlog worldwide
In a big achievement, Pakistan has reduced the passport application backlog to zero both inside the country and abroad, officials confirmed on Thursday.
High Commissioner’s Visit
The Bangladesh High Commissioner to Pakistan, Iqbal Hussain, visited the Passport Headquarters where he reviewed different sections and observed how passports are produced.
He was welcomed by Director General of Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, who explained the modern facilities being used. These include:
Advanced lamination technology.
Stronger security features.
Improved online services, especially for overseas Pakistanis.
Backlog Brought to Zero
The DG Passports proudly announced that the department has now cleared the global backlog of passport applications. This means applicants no longer have to face long delays in getting their passports.
Praise From Bangladesh Envoy
The Bangladeshi High Commissioner praised Pakistan’s use of technology and administrative reforms, especially those designed for overseas citizens. He also showed interest in the department’s use of artificial intelligence in passport production.
Calling the achievement remarkable, he said that eliminating the backlog in such a short time reflects Pakistan’s move toward modern governance and digital solutions.
This step marks a major milestone for Pakistan, offering smoother and faster services to both local and overseas citizens.
