Islamabad High Court Warns CDA Over Delay in Plot Handover
Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has strongly criticized the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for not handing over possession of a plot to a citizen in Sector E-11, despite a long-running legal case.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, while hearing the case, questioned the CDA’s lawyer: “Why has the possession not been given to the affected citizen after such a long time?”
Justice Kayani warned that if the issue is not resolved, he may issue arrest warrants for the Chairman of the CDA.
“Tell your office to complete the work, otherwise arrest warrants will be issued,” he said. He also warned of penalties, saying he could summon the Chairman and Board Members to the court and order them directly.
“Even if they don’t understand, it is the duty of the legal officer to explain the court’s orders,” Justice Kayani added.
The court has directed the CDA to hand over possession of the plot to the affected citizen before the next hearing.
The case has been adjourned until next month.
