PIA Resumes Canada Flights from Today with Mega Discount Offer

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has resumed its flight operations to Canada, with the first flight to Toronto departing from Karachi at 8:00 AM today. To mark the relaunch, the airline is offering up to 15 per cent discounts on tickets for passengers travelling on this route.

According to a PIA spokesperson, the national carrier will operate Boeing 777 (Triple Seven) aircraft for Canada flights, providing long-haul comfort and reliability for international passengers. Bookings are now open, with further expansions planned based on demand.

The airline’s operations to Canada had been suspended earlier due to operational and regulatory challenges. The resumption marks a major step in PIA’s international recovery strategy.

UK Flights to Restart in October

PIA has also announced the resumption of direct flights to the United Kingdom from October, following the completion of regulatory clearances and safety audits.

The airline has secured Third Country Operator (TCO) authorisation from the UK’s Department for Transport (DfT), granting approval to re-enter British airspace after more than five years. PIA has also received Air Cargo Carrier 3 (ACC3) certification, valid for five years, reflecting compliance with international safety and security standards for cargo operations.

“In the first phase, flights will resume to Manchester, followed by Birmingham and London,” the spokesperson said, describing the DfT approval as a “significant milestone.”

PIA’s UK flights were suspended in 2020 after European and British regulators raised concerns over pilot licensing and safety protocols. Since then, the airline has implemented reforms, audits, and safety improvements to align with international aviation standards.
