Federal Cabinet Approves Regional Representation and Development Councils in 12 KP Districts

The selection process was conducted through jirgas organized in all 12 districts with the assistance of the respective deputy commissioners. The Additional Chief Secretary/Administrator of the Regional Development Secretariat processed the proposed names following consultations and forwarded the list to the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for further consideration. The chief secretary subsequently sent the list to the provincial governor.

Following the completion of the process, the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa forwarded the nominated members’ names to the federal government. The cabinet’s approval marks a formal step towards establishing the councils, which are intended to provide regional representation and support development across the 12 districts. The official notification of the council members is expected to follow.
