Public Outrage Over Children’s Deaths in Peshawar School Tragedy, Former KP Govt Faces Criticism

The deaths of children in the school roof collapse in Peshawar’s Dir Colony have caused widespread grief and anger among the public, with citizens and teachers criticising the former provincial government.

Citizens said the timely response by rescue workers, police and the Pakistan Army helped save the lives of several innocent children.

They stressed that every child’s life is valuable and said school administrations must take effective measures to ensure students’ safety.

Teachers complained that no government school had been built in the area and that educational facilities had not been provided during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s 13-year rule in the province.

They also criticised the former provincial government, saying it made major claims about improving education but failed to establish effective laws and a proper monitoring system for schools.

The Peshawar school tragedy has highlighted the importance of building safety, child protection and effective government oversight of educational institutions.
