Kim Kardashian paid a heartfelt tribute to her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., on the 22nd anniversary of his passing. On September 30, the reality star shared an emotional message and a touching, digitally edited image on her Instagram Stories. The photo showed her in a graduation cap and gown standing next to her proud father, reflecting her deep connection to him even decades after his death.

She wrote:
“Thank you for always protecting the family from heaven. Can’t believe I was 22 years old when you passed away and it’s been 22 years today since you went to heaven… I’ve known you just as long as you’ve been gone… I hope you’re so proud of all of us. We love you dad and miss you soooooooooo much.”

Robert Kardashian Sr., a prominent attorney and businessman, gained national attention in 1994 as part of O.J. Simpson’s defense team during the widely publicized murder trial involving Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Outside of the courtroom, Robert had an entrepreneurial spirit, co-founding the trade publication Radio & Records and launching businesses such as Movie Tunes, which played music in movie theaters before screenings.

He was married to Kris Jenner from 1978 until 1991, and together they had four children — Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Rob Jr. Robert was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in July 2003 and passed away just two months later in September at the age of 59. Since his death, his family has continued to honor his legacy, including through the establishment of the UCLA Robert G. Kardashian Center for Esophageal Health.

Khloe Kardashian also shared her thoughts, reposting a tribute video she had originally shared earlier in 2024. She included nostalgic family photos and an emotional caption:

“I will forever hold space for you. Happy birthday daddy 🤍 I love you 🕊️ thank you for everything 🤍 Every memory. Every lesson. Every laugh. Every ounce of love. Thank you!.. Of course I miss him every single day and wish he were here to meet our babies but I’m not sad.
In fact, I feel blessed that I was chosen to have 19 years with the most incredible Man I have ever known. Some people never get that. We did! Thank you for choosing such an incredible mommy to be by our side…”

Tributes on the anniversary extended beyond family members. In her new book Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis, Priscilla Presley reflected on her brief romantic connection with Robert Kardashian back in 1975. She wrote, “Robert was a kind man, and I liked him. But after some months, I saw it was not going to last,” offering a personal glimpse into a lesser-known chapter of his life.
