Court Withholds Decision on Ducky Bhai’s Bail Plea in Gambling Case
LAHORE: The bail application of popular YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, was heard in the Sessions Court on Thursday, where the judge reserved the verdict after arguments from both sides.
The case is linked to allegations of promoting illegal online gambling applications.
During the hearing, the Additional Sessions Judge listened to arguments from Ducky Bhai’s lawyer, who concluded his stance, while the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) counsel also presented his arguments. Following the exchange, the court reserved the decision, which will be announced later.
Arrest and Detention
Authorities arrested Ducky Bhai on August 17 at Lahore airport as he attempted to travel abroad. His name had already been placed on the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL), barring him from leaving the country.
The court initially handed him over to the NCCIA on a two-day physical remand and instructed investigators to submit their report at the next hearing.
NCCIA’s Allegations
The NCCIA registered an FIR against the YouTuber after allegedly obtaining evidence of illegal payments linked to gambling apps. The agency stated that Ducky Bhai promoted platforms such as Binomo and was involved in money laundering.
Officials further claimed that a mobile phone recovered from him contained suspicious WhatsApp contacts and data indicating unlawful transactions. They alleged that he misled the public through social media promotions and attempted to flee abroad when apprehended.
