Dar, Saudi FM Discuss Gaza Situation, Call for Speedy Ceasefire
Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan to discuss the ongoing situation in Gaza and regional developments, the Foreign Office said in a statement on Saturday.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, both foreign ministers exchanged views on the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza and emphasized the urgent need for an immediate and lasting ceasefire to protect innocent civilians.
The two leaders also discussed the regional situation, including ongoing consultations in New York between Arab and Islamic countries and the United States regarding efforts to end the conflict.
During the conversation, both sides agreed that peace in the Middle East can only be achieved through a fair and lasting settlement based on the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar praised Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic efforts for peace and appreciated the Kingdom’s continued role in supporting the Palestinian cause.
The ministers also discussed Hamas’ response to the Trump peace plan, noting that all diplomatic efforts should focus on ending violence and resuming meaningful political dialogue.
Both foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to working closely for regional stability, humanitarian support for Gaza’s civilians, and coordinated action at international forums to promote peace in the Middle East.
