Who is Ms Sharon? North Carolina School Bus Driver Arrested on Multiple Assault Charges

A Charlotte, North Carolina, school bus driver known as Ms Sharon, whose real name is Leetwain Darrell Tate, has been arrested and charged for allegedly sexually assaulting several teenage boys. The 48-year-old worked as a bus driver at Sugar Creek Charter School, but was fired after his arrest.

Arrest and Investigation Details

According to WCNC, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) began investigating the case on September 16, 2025. Tate was arrested two weeks later, on September 30, 2025, following multiple allegations made by four teenage boys aged 14 and 15.

Authorities confirmed that the alleged assaults did not occur at the school or on the bus. Instead, the victims claimed they were lured to Tate’s house, where he reportedly sexually assaulted them and allegedly offered money in exchange for sexual acts.

Charges Against Leetwain Darrell Tate

The CMPD announced that Leetwain Darrell Tate, also known as Ms Sharon, faces serious felony charges, including:

• Two counts of statutory rape

• Six counts of indecent liberties with a minor

• One count of statutory sex offense

Following his arrest, Sugar Creek Charter School immediately terminated Tate’s employment.

Community and Family Reactions

Neighbors of Ms Sharon described the incident as “disturbing and alarming.” One local resident told reporters: “It’s pretty disturbing that it is so close to home. To think someone would take advantage of kids that age is very alarming.”

Meanwhile, Tate’s family told WCNC they believe he is innocent and that the allegations are false.

Police Seeking Additional Victims

Police received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in April 2025, which led to Reep’s arrest.

Reep was held at Catawba County Detention Facility on a $260,000 bond but has since been released after posting bail. His website and social media accounts have been deleted, and all upcoming stand-up shows have been canceled.
