While other PBA teams showcased celebrities and beauty queens during the grand opening of PBA Season 50, the San Miguel Beermen took a meaningful approach. Instead of picking a famous face, they chose one of their own — Carolyn Eyer, a long-time San Miguel Corporation (SMC) employee — as their official muse.
Who is Carolyn Eyer?
Carolyn Eyer works as a Key Accounts Executive at San Miguel Corporation and has been part of the company for 15 years. Her selection as the Beermen’s muse came as a surprise not just to fans, but even to her.
“First of all, I’m an employee of San Miguel. So being part of this is quite amazing. After 15 years, this experience is truly beyond words,” Eyer shared in an interview with One Sports.
She also noted that this year marks both the 50th season of the PBA and San Miguel’s 135th anniversary, making her participation even more special. “It’s not only about basketball. It’s a celebration of San Miguel itself — an iconic company that’s part of Philippine culture,” she said proudly.
From Office Desk to Center Stage
Unlike most muses who are celebrities or athletes, Eyer admitted she felt nervous taking on such a public role.
“As a normal person, I was really nervous. This isn’t my field,” she confessed. “I was scared, shy, and anxious — just like any ordinary person would be.”
Despite her initial hesitation, she confidently represented the Beermen and impressed both the crowd and her co-workers.
Standing Among Stars
This year’s lineup of PBA muses included some of the country’s top personalities — Sue Ramirez for Barangay Ginebra, Ahtisa Manalo for Magnolia, Chelsea Manalo for Meralco, Chelsea Fernandez for Blackwater, and several volleyball stars like Majoy Baron, Kim Dy, and Mika Reyes.
Even among such well-known names, Carolyn Eyer stood out for representing the everyday working Filipino — someone who embodies dedication, humility, and pride in her company.
“I’m proud to say I’m part of San Miguel, not just as a muse but as an employee,” she said with a smile.
