Who Is Marissa Lawrence, the Wife of Jaguars Quarterback Trevor Lawrence?
Trevor Lawrence is best known as the quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars — but beyond football, he’s also a devoted husband and father.
The NFL star first met his wife, Marissa Lawrence, in 2016 when they were both students at Cartersville High School in Georgia. The couple got engaged in 2020 at Clemson University’s Memorial Stadium and tied the knot a year later. In January 2025, they welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Shae Lynn Lawrence.
Marissa has been a strong supporter of her husband’s career. Reflecting on Trevor’s rookie NFL season in January 2022, she praised his growth and perseverance.
“What a year babe!! Lots of highs and lows,” she wrote. “A lot of learning. A lot of growing. A lot of adversity and newness. But there was also a lottt of good … good friendships … good memories. Goodness in the growth you’ve seen, the leadership you’ve learned deeper, and the [adversity] you’ve faced that made you stronger.”
From Georgia Roots to High School Sweethearts
Like Trevor, Marissa hails from Cartersville, Georgia. The two attended the same high school, where she often shared photos from Trevor’s football games.
“Fridays are my favorite day,” she captioned a 2017 post with the quarterback. “Love you guys!!”
Their relationship began in 2016, and by April 2017, ahead of their first anniversary, Marissa celebrated the milestone with a prom photo.
“11 amazing months,” she wrote alongside a picture of the couple dressed in coordinating outfits.
Family-Oriented and Proud Aunt
Family plays a central role in Marissa’s life. She frequently features her parents, Kelly and Steve Mowry, and her sisters, McKenzie and Miranda Mowry, on social media. In a 2020 Thanksgiving post, she shared photos with her mother and sisters, writing,
“Thankful + stuffed like a turkey.”
Marissa is also a doting aunt to McKenzie’s two children. She expressed her excitement when her nephew Jedidiah John David Grimes was born in 2015, saying,
“Welcome to the world Jedidiah John David Grimes❤️ I’ve never known love this quickly and I’m beyond excited to be your aunt.”
When McKenzie welcomed her second child in 2018, Marissa shared another heartfelt message:
“Happy Birthday Isaiah Lynn💕 So proud of you Kenz, you did great.”
Athlete and Former Soccer Player
Marissa attended Anderson University, where she played soccer. In 2021, as she prepared to graduate, she reflected on her athletic journey, calling soccer a lifelong passion that shaped her identity.
“How do you say goodbye to something you’ve known your whole life, something you’ve poured so much into, something you love,” she wrote.
She revealed that her soccer career ended earlier than expected due to the COVID-19 pandemic and her early graduation.
“Though things aren’t ending the way I ever would’ve thought … I couldn’t be more thankful or filled with JOY for the times I’ve had with the sport I love,” she added.
A Memorable Proposal
In July 2020, Trevor proposed to Marissa on Clemson University’s football field. The romantic moment, captured in photos shared by Marissa, showed Trevor kneeling in the middle of the stadium.
“Easiest YES of my life!!!” she wrote. “I love you always Trevor.”
